Dreams for YOUR Future

May 19th, 2009 by Maggie

How many times have you sat and just thought about YOUR future, and HOW you would like your life to be?

As a child we all had dreams and visions of what we wanted to be, what we wanted to do and what we wanted to have in our lives.

Over the weekend I took time out to watch a movie that I had recorded some months earlier (Yes it has taken me over 8 months to get around to watching even 1 movie I recorded) it was called “October Sky”.

If you have never watched this movie, I would thoroughly recommend you get it, as it is VERY inspirational.  In fact it is based on a true story of a group of boys in a mining town and how they started to make rockets and won a science fair.  One of the boys Homer grew up trained the Astronauts that fly the Space Shuttles.  With the others they all got good careers etc.

Why am I telling you this – well, Homer was hopeless at school, no good at math until … …  (I won’t spoil the story), and so many of you I know will use the excuse, but I am not good at … … therefore I have to stay put as my dreams will turn into reality.

Look, WE ALL CAN BE WHAT WE WANT, GET WHAT WE WANT AND BE WHAT WE WANT if the desire is strong enough.

Far to many people do not believe in the mantra “I AM therefore I have peace, balance, harmony and an abundance of all good things in my life” but come from, “I have sickness, turmoil, anger, hopelessness and cannot be anything because I am no good at ________, therefore I AM”

I urge you all to take time everyday say 30 minutes for the next couple of weeks with pen and paper ready  - just sit for that 30 minutes uninterrupted and think about how you would like your life.  After that 30 minutes, write what came to your mind.  Do this day after day.  After 14 days, go back and read what you write each day, Did it change each day?  What is the common thread?

After 14 days, you will have a good idea (a) What it is you want in life (b) What thought is stopping you from achieving it.

You want Inspiration?  Watch October Sky plus search YouTube for

Rev. Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith and watch some his video’s they are fantastic.

Remember “I AM therefore I have peace, balance, harmony and an abundance of all good things in my life”

Until Next time

P.S.  I have had several emails asking me what other books I would recommend.  Several Of you I know have ordered “Triggers” referred to in my last post.

To keep in line with what I wrote today I would recommend

YOU do need books!

May 13th, 2009 by Maggie

I am an avid reader – not junky stuff  - I love Autobiographies, Sales and Marketing Books, Spirituality Books and a whole lot more, in fact anything except trashy fiction.

I devour the stuff – it does not matter what time of night I go to bed, I always have to read for a least an hour, if the book is good, it has been known for me to look at the clock only to find that I have read nearly all night and that it will soon be light in the sky! My husband threatens to set an alarm clock at a “Decent” time to stop me reading!

I never buy new books; I am always seen poking around garage sales, second hand bookstores and car boot sales to find Books that I like.  I always carry with me a receipt book, so if the seller does not have one, I can get them to write out a receipt so I can claim as a business expense (Updating my library).

So what is this leading up to?  Easy, if you are entrepreneur

You need to read, read, read.

Now I know what you’re going to say, “But Maggie, I am not an entrepreneur” my reply is, “if you are a business owner, then yes you are!”

“But Maggie, I don’t have time to read” – “Then Make time”

Look, I know for a fact that people who succeed in business read everything they can lay their hands on when it comes to Sales and Marketing and Business.  It is like building a house, you must lay solid foundations and then brick by brick, build the house.

If you don’t have solid foundations the house will fall.

I want to recommend a book that should be in EVERYONES library if you are in business or an affiliate and that is

Tick Toc Goes the Clock

May 6th, 2009 by Maggie

Tick Toc = TIME MANAGEMENT -Achieve more with your time.

Many people freak at the words: “Time Management”

Yes I have seen grown men buckle at the knees (sorry guys, but some of you are the worst time managers on this earth). Now women as time managers that is a whole different ball game. You want to see time management in action watch a workingwoman with 4 + kiddies! So what is it - Time Management is a set of related common-sense skills that help you to use your time in the most effective and productive way possible.

By using time Management skills you can learn to:

  • Determine which of the things you do are important, and which can be dropped.
  • Use your time in the most effective way possible.
  • Increase the time in which you can work, or do those special things that your extra income may provide, or spend time doing your “Favorite things”
  • Control the distractions that waste your time and break your flow
  • Increase your effectiveness and reduce stress

By becoming more effective in the use of your time you can reduce stress by:

  • Being more in control of what you do
  • Being productive, and secure in your business activities whether you see it as a building a huge residual income or just part-time $$ to supplement.
  • Enjoying what you do
  • Giving yourself more quality time.

At the heart of the subject is a simple, but obvious, shift in focus

CONCENTRATE OF RESULTS, NOT ON BEING BUSY – have you heard the term “Busy being broke?”

Tips for better time management

  • Make a to do list EVERY night
  • List them in order of importance
  • NEVER put more than 4 – 5 things on that list
  • Turn off your mobile phone when starting the first project – Yes TURN IT OFF!!  There was a time BEFORE mobile phones that people were far more productive than today.  People can do without you for 3-4 hours and you can do without them.
  • DO NOT look at your emails until you have completed your tasks.  Emails are for the end of the day not the beginning.
  • Put your MSN to “Appear Offline” again big distraction to some.

AND NOW OVER TO YOU… … yes you now need to put your answer to the biggest distraction affecting you everyday on this list.
So Tick Toc goes the clock, every minute that you waste is a minute you CANNOT get back.

Until Next time,

Love and Light
