It is with deep sadness and a flow of tears that I bring you an update on Bobbee.
After being home a couple of weeks, following all the vets instructions and doing really well, Bobbee became very sick again, and was rushed back into animal hospital.
He was in for 3 more days, and appeared to be getting well, then I received a call from the vet to say that Bobbee has taken a turn for worse and that they thought he wouldn’t make it.
I immediately went down to visit him and to see the vet and discuss his case. Bobbee our Precious, Precious boy was dying. He was in so much pain, even with medication, when I saw him, I knew it was time to show my boy the ultimate in love. You know he tried so much to get up and greet me, but his strength was not there. I cradled him in my arms and told him how much we loved him, how much he meant to us, and thanked him for being part of our lives. He licked my face, I kissed him, nodded to the vet and sang to him, looking into his eyes as he quietly drifted off over the Rainbow Bridge to join Winston and Amydog (Other dogs we have had in our lives) and wait for us.
I came across this poem, which I would like to dedicate to Bobbee, written by Jan Cooper … …
Heaven’s Doggy Door -
My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head was in my hand.
The Doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.
The thoughts that scurried through my head,
As I cradled him in my arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And OH…his many charms.
Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense “I love you gaze”,
Only a heart thats filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, “You should cry no more,
GOD also loves our canine friends,
HE’s installed a ‘doggy-door”!
Rest In Peace Bobbee you have received your wings.
Bobbee received his wings on the 12th July
Until next time

Thank you Karen. I still miss him so much.
Bobbee was one of 3 dogs I had. I still have another 2, Popsie and JD. Both of them rescue dogs and both were very badly abused.
Popsie was an old dog when I got her and even older now, and JD well he came to us when he was about 2 and he is 12 now, both are little dogs and both are gorgeous.
I will be getting another dog as we have always had 3 dogs. It took me a while to grieve properly for Bobbee and now I am just waiting for the right doggie to come along.
Love your blog I have been right through it. I must admit I cried when I read the dog’s 10 commandments especially that bit at the end. Plus – “When its time to say goodbye”. It is hard to be there, but I am glad I sang to Bobbee, I sang a song to him as he quietly went to Rainbow Bridge that I used to sing to him all the time. It is hard to bring your dog home and bury him in the garden – But Bobbee is buried in a spot we used to sit together. He has an angel as his headstone. We have 3 angels in our garden, and each dog buried underneath was special.
I believe that every dog deserves someone to cry over them and miss them when they go!
Love and Light

Oh boy – how awful for you, however long ago it was…
It is the very worst thing to do but also the kindest.
I have two very beautiful whippets – mother and naughty daughter!
This is their blog http://whippet-tales.com
I haven’t written anything for quite a while but there is a few funny episodes that would rival any ‘Marley and Me’ film.
Did you get another dog
Karen
I’m an atheist (ex-christian) and discovered this especially compelling.
