Matcha Green Tea and Cancer – I continue to use Matcha Green Tea in my Health Regime as I am cured and 100% healthy after kicking Cancer in the butt, I know the benefits of this tea only too well and used it DAILY in my regime after my diagnosis and to this very day. It is such a versatile tea, you can drink it as is or add it to many different things to get the benefits of it continually during the day.
The Benefits of Green Tea are well known due to its Catechin content. Catechins are antioxidants that fight the free radicals that damage the body and prevent cell damage. So the tea is beneficial in helping us maintain our health and gaining our health.
What is Matcha Green Tea?
Matcha is a highly potent stone-ground green tea used in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. It has been highly prized for centuries.
8th century Zen priest Eisai said “ Matcha Tea is the ultimate mental and medical remedy and has the ability to make one’s life more full and complete”.
Why Matcha Green Tea?
- Matcha Green Tea contains some vitamins and minerals
- Matcha Green Tea is very, very rich in polyphenol compounds called catechins, which is highly antioxidant, and more potent than your standard Green Tea.
- Matcha is made from ground up whole tea leaves, thus enabling more of the potent catechins to be consumed
- Matcha Green Tea contains 3 times more catechins called Epigallocatechin Gallate – and in scientific studies this has been linked to fighting cancer, heart disease and other diseases and viruses than other kinds of Green Tea.
No wonder the big name stars and other health nuts are consuming this daily. I had always been into Green Tea and was reading an article in a magazine at the hairdressers about Gwyneth Paltrow taking a thermos of this to her gym classes and I thought I would try it. So glad I did!
How to Prepare Matcha Green Tea
I do prepare Matcha Green Tea the traditional Japanese way during the day as well as add the tea to my juices or smoothies. I find making the tea the traditional way, gives me so much satisfaction and I also give thanks for the healing qualities of the tea before I drink it.
To do this I add the tea into a heated matcha bowl (chawan) with a bent bamboo spoon (chashaku).
I then add hot but not boiling water – 70°C is about right – (I boil the water then leave it for about 3 minutes then add).
I then whisk to a froth using a special bamboo whisk (chasen) as this gives an amazing smooth and silky consistency.
Matcha Green Tea In A Smoothie
Part of my daily health regime is to make smoothies. I find by adding 1 teaspoon of Matcha Green Tea In A Smoothie gives it that extra antioxodant health kick, plus adds to the silky smoothness of the smoothie, and blends in with what-ever flavor of smoothie you are making. This tea is so versatile. My Grandchildren adore smoothies and in everyone Matcha Green Tea is added, their health and energy is 100%.
